How Do I?
Student Access to SQL Server LAN Tests
Prerequisites:
- Install the LXR*TEST 6.0 Student runtime software on each student's machine.
- Created a DSN for the upsized LAN test. Refer to Appendix J: Upsizing to SQL Server
for procedures on creating a DSN for an upsized Online database.
- Placed the upsized Online database, and any supporting databases, as well as the
DSN on a shared portion of the server that students have permission to access.
- Enabled SQL Server access to administer upsized LAN tests. Refer to Enabling SQL
Server Access to Administer Upsized LAN Tests.
Student Access:
Note: You may want to do the following configuration
for the students prior to the testing period.
- Run the Student runtime software.
- Click on the ODBC DSN button.
- Log into the SQL Server.
- Navigate to the server location of the upsized LAN test.
- Click once to select the file, then click Open.
