How Do I?
Using the Clone Headers Feature
Headers Toolbar
Clone Headers
Clicking the Clone Headers button will bring up an interface from which you can
copy (or "clone") information between the cover page tab, headers tabs, and footer
tabs, either within or between reports.
Source Information
This top portion of the Clone Headers interface identifies which tab of information,
and from what report, is going to be copied to one or more other cover page, header,
or footer tab(s). In the example below, the user would be copying first page header
information from the Test.
File Types
Just as you have to specify which database type you are working with when you customize
header/footer/cover page information, you must also begin the cloning procedure
by specifying the database type you want to copy information to; available database
types are: questions, test, specifications, scores, grading, and students. Click
on the desired database type to select (and highlight) it.
Report Types
Once a destination database type has been selected, then the appropriate report
types become available. You must indicate which report(s) you want to copy the header/footer/cover
page information to. In our example, the user only wants to copy the first page
header information of the test to other header tabs on the test; s/he selects the
Test report.
Header Types
Once a report type has been selected, then the user must select the desired header/footer/cover
page tab(s) that s/he wants to copy the information to. In our example, the user
will select (highlight) the remaining header tabs by holding the Control key while
clicking on the remaining three header types (see below).
Once these settings are in place, the user simply needs to click on the Clone button
(which now becomes available) in order to copy the header/footer/cover page information.
Note: You may find this Clone Headers feature especially
useful in transferring header/footer/cover page information between different report
types.
