Software Packages
The LXR•TEST family of software products consists of a core software package, LXR•TEST
6.0, and two optional components — the Mark Reader Option and the Online Testing
Option.
LXR•TEST 6.0, Professional Edition: This core software
package includes features for item banking, construction and printing of paper tests,
manual entry and editing of response data, maintenance of grading tables, extensive
reporting capabilities and more.
Mark Reader Option: Adds additional software functionality
to the core LXR•TEST 6.0 product to interface with compatible optical mark reader
hardware. See system requirements below.
Online Testing Option: Adds additional software
functionality to the core LXR•TEST 6.0 product to create and administer computer-based
tests. With this module, tests can be delivered on local area networks, the Web
or via CD-ROM as provided by the license agreement. See system requirements below.
Pricing and Licensing
The LXR•TEST 6.0 software packages are licensed, not sold, in accordance with the
End-User License Agreement (EULA). The license
fees depend on how and where the software is used. For a current price list

User Fees: Each individual using LXR•TEST 6.0 must
pay an end-user license fee. If purchased by an organization, the first user is
referred to as the primary user and additional users are referred to as secondary
users. Secondary user license fees are discounted based on quantity but subject
to certain restrictions for support and upgrades.
Server Fees: A server fee is required for each
server that is accessed by a user for the purpose of sharing or using LXR•TEST software
or databases or to install designated server software components needed for online
testing.
Distribution Fees: A distribution fee is required
whenever designated run-time components are electronically copied or replicated.
This authorizes a remote user to install and take an examination on a stand-alone
computer. A distribution fee is typically NOT required when administering an examination
on a server for which a server fee has been paid. Note: These descriptions are for
descriptive purposes only. Actual product use is governed by the
End-User License Agreement (EULA).
System Requirements
All LXR•TEST 6.0 software packages require a Windows 98/NT/2000 computer operating
environment. (However, users taking Web-based tests may do so on any computer capable
of running Internet Explorer or Netscape browsers 4.0 or later.)
Online Testing Option requires Internet Information Server 4.0 or later with Active
Server Pages to deliver Web tests.
Mark Reader Option requires compatible mark reader hardware, cable and forms.
Support
Each primary license includes 90 days of free telephone or e-mail support. Additional
support options are available, which include per incident support, automatic software
revisions and annual support plans.
